HIYA! So how have you been? On good form through of all this we hope. MikeCat here (not the former rugby player). I’d written the majority of this shortly before you know what and obviously we have had to put plans, gigs and our little surprise for catfans on hold for a while.

In the meantime, we hope you have been enjoying our little series of vignettes of “Cats At Home” on Facebook.

JoeCat also made this terrific promo short so share and share again!

Well here’s a rundown of the back end of 2019 – what another year of madcappery, tomfoolery and utterly wonderful people we’ve met.

We kicked off August at the ever hospitable Sandhole Oak Barn for Samantha and Mark’s wedding where the bridesmaids rocked the dancefloor with plenty of requests after our sets for DJ Joe. We then travelled over to Yorkshire, to Cawood Holiday Park – a place where we’re always welcomed and have a great time with the holidaymakers and residents. I’m sure they think SteCat is on catnip with his antics with them.

We had a mega road trip to Bracknell in Berkshire as we’d been invited to play for Claire’s 40th at Warbrook House Hotel. Kevin’s video montage of Claire was entertaining as was the dance moves and shots competition!

We hit Adlington, Cheshire, again for Rachel’s 50th (I know, she doesn’t look it). We’d played her husband Paul’s birthday party a while back and again family and friends turned up to shake their tails and throw themselves into our music.

A new venue for us, The Brown Cow in Eccleston, was intimate and loads of fun for Bonfire Night and we returned to The Shed, home of Tempest United, in Bolton for an amazingly riotous night. JoeCat broke a string four songs in and professionally finished the first set with the three remaining until the half time replacement. (He only needs 2 really, I reckon).

The Mayor’s Ball at Shrigley Hall was another cracker of a night – people up dancing from Kirsty’s first line and tables having to be moved back to make the dancefloor bigger!

In November, Kirsty won “Lyrics to Riches 2019”! The judges posted “After an amazingly close final Kirsty’s beautiful voice snuck her the win in a joint point sing off.”

We finished 2019 with a Christmas wedding for Hayley and Karl in the gorgeous Crewe Hall. What a venue and we were so well looked after. Check out our lovely Christmas card from them!

Corporate events again at Carden Park, our annual BACTA Charity Ball duties with the crowd in Blackpool’s Grand Hotel and our usual residencies at The Filling Factory and Granvilles have captured many of you to follow and like us. We truly are grateful for your support so keep sharing and say “HIYA” when we see you next.

Now, our 2nd Annual “Christmas With The Cats” was…well let’s just say these things happened… pile-ons, SteCat being squashed at the bottom of the pile-on, blow up reindeers, wigs, sunglasses indoors, sombreros (!), dodgy Christmas jumpers, air guitars… Who’s coming to the next one???

Kicking off 2020 with a wedding at The Oasthouse, Manchester, in their tepee for Claire and Shaun’s wedding was awesome! We ran out our new tunes which were great to play and groove too and JoeCat and KirstyCat’s DJing skills made it a memorable night of boyband madness!

I made some fantastic brews. SteCat’s were dubious. We found we have an aversion to mustard. Kirsty’s clown schooling provided entertainment in Barnsley.

We’ve revamped our set again which is ace, brought back some old favourites on request and now can’t wait to play our tasty new tunes from rehearsals this month.

We regularly update on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter so make sure you follow us there for more news, photos and video clips! Tag yourselves and share it out, ya mad lot!

We’re here now so let’s keep going and we’ll definitely let you know when we’re allowed out of the cattery as soon as we know. Stay safe!
